Foot Reflexology

I am continually amazed at just how effective Reflexology can be

Reflexology is a gentle, non-invasive treatment which is suitable for just about anyone. It is an incredibly soothing treatment, yet it can deliver powerful results. It has to be one of the most relaxing complimentary therapies on offer. Whilst most people enjoy reflexology for its restorative and relaxation properties, it can be used to treat a number of specific conditions.

Reflexology is based on the principal that the reflexes found in both the feet and hands correspond to glands, organs and other parts of the body. Applying gentle pressure using the thumbs and fingers to stimulate these reflex areas, helps to bring about a sense of deep relaxation and to stimulate and encouraging the body’s own healing potential to bring about a state of balance. It stimulates nerve function, increases energy, eliminates toxins, increases circulation, speeds up recovery after illness or injury, induces a deep state of relaxation and restores the balance of the body’s functions.

Reflexology has been known to help with the symptoms of the following ailments:
● Stress and anxiety ● Migraines ● Sinus issues ● Insomnia ● Neck, back and shoulder pain ● Sciatica ● Digestive issues ● Hormonal imbalance ● Relaxation and general wellbeing ● Fertility issues & pre & post-natal care

Facial Reflexology

Calming and uplifting, with all the health benefits of foot Reflexology

Facial Reflexology reduces stress for health and wellbeing to restore your inner balance. Facial Reflexology focuses on the reflex points of the face. It helps stimulate the body’s own healing ability. Working in a similar way to foot reflexology it helps improve circulation and skin tone, whilst encouraging the release of toxins from the body via the lymphatic system.

The face’s close proximity to the brain and cranial nerves makes facial reflexology very effective in impacting the body systems.

Facial Reflexology has been known to help with the symptoms of the following ailments:
● Sinusitis ● Headaches and migraines ● Relaxation and general wellbeing ● Relieves tension and improves concentration ● Bruxism (teeth grinding)

Reflexology is a gentle soothing holistic treatment that is safe to use during pregnancy post 12 weeks, which can help support you and your baby. Treatments will be tailored to support your physical and emotional needs during and after pregnancy.

Reflexology can really help with many of the symptoms of pregnancy that you may be struggling with including:
● Tiredness ● Sickness ● Back Pain ● Headaches ● Fluid Retention/Odema ● Mood Swings ● Poor Sleep ● Pelvic Pain ● Circulatory problems ● Anxiety

Reflexology can also be very helpful in supporting you postnatally as you adapt to the demands of your new baby. During this time when hormone levels drop you can often feel stressed and overwhelmed. Postnatal Reflexology may encourage mothers to recover both physically and emotionally after the birth by helping to rebalancing the body and increase energy levels. Your Reflexology treatments during pregnancy are generally carried out on a La Fuma which is a reclining chair. Firstly an in depth consultation will be carried out prior to your treatment to enable me to tailor your treatment to meet your needs.

Hot Stone Reflexology

hot-stone-massage

Hot stone Reflexology is quite a different experience to a “conventional” Reflexology treatment.

Hot Stone Reflexology really does take Reflexology to another level helping to bring about a deeper state of relaxation. This truly indulgent treatment, using various massage techniques and warm stones, relaxes the body at its deepest level and is effective in creating harmony and balance leaving you feeling restored and rejuvenated.

The subtle energy of the stones introduced into the treatment help to calm the senses, relax muscle tension and promote wellbeing at a much deeper level. Heat from the stones can penetrate the superficial layers of muscle up to 7-8cms.

Hot stones can be incorporated into a Reflexology treatment to further enhance the benefits of the treatment. The heat helps to relax the muscles in the legs and feet allowing the therapist to work deeper into the reflex areas and muscles.

The stones are composed of basalt, a volcanic rock, which due to its high density retains heat well. They are heated and are only applied to the skin at a comfortable temperature.

● Promotes relaxation ● Increases circulation ● De-stresses ● Helps the body fight infection
● Reduces muscle tension

Cold stones may also be used during a reflexology treatment and may help, for example, with:
●
Easing inflammation ● Headaches ● Sinus congestion ● Muscle strain
● Improves immune function

You can choose to have a full session of Hot Stone Reflexology or have a combination of normal Reflexology and Hot Stone Reflexology.
